Iowa row crop planting virtually complete

The USDA says planting is essentially done in Iowa.

The weekly Crop Progress Report says there were reports of weather issues last week making corn or soybean replant necessary for some producers.

Corn emergence is at 95 percent, one week behind last year. Corn condition remains at 86 percent good to excellent.

Ninety-seven percent of soybeans have been planted, eight days behind the last year’s pace. Eighty-four percent of the crop has emerged.

Thirty-eight percent of the state’s oat crop has headed, five days behind normal. Oat condition rated 82 percent good to excellent.
