Arkansas crops: 83% soybeans and 82% cotton rated good to excellent

Planting is winding down for most Arkansas farmers.    

Soybeans are 91% planted with 84% of the crop emerged, 20% blooming, 1% setting pods, and 83% rated good to excellent.  Cotton is 96% emerged, 10% squaring, and 82% rated good to excellent.  Peanuts are 98% planted, 91% emerged, and 80% rated good to excellent.  Rice is 97% emerged and 79% rated good to excellent.  Corn is 12% silking and 75% rated good to excellent. 

Ninety-three percent of the winter wheat crop coloring, 29% of the crop is harvested, with 81% of the crop rated good to excellent.

The first cutting of hay is 75% complete and 58% is rated good.  Other hay is rated 49% good to excellent.  Vegetables are rated 81% good to excellent.

Topsoil moisture was 92% adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture was 92% adequate to surplus.
