RFA: ethanol exports up sharply in April

U.S. ethanol shipments surged during April.

The Renewable Fuels Association says April exports were a four-year high and the third largest monthly volume on record at 185.2 million gallons, an increase of 48% from March. Canada was the top destination for the thirteenth month in a row, followed by Brazil, South Korea, Singapore, and the Netherlands.

Exports of distillers dried grains with solubles were a fourteen-month low at 813,749 tons, a decrease of 12% on the month. Shipments to Mexico dropped, but they remained the largest customer for the nineteenth consecutive month, with Vietnam, South Korea, and Canada rounding out the list.

For the year to date, ethanol exports are 15% ahead of the 2021 pace at 577.2 million gallons and DDGS shipments are up 8% at 3.7 million tons.
