Arkansas corn fully emerged, 86% of soybeans planted
Most farmers were able to make good planting progress in Arkansas last week. The USDA says more than 5 days were available for fieldwork and most of the state has adequate to surplus soil moisture.
100% of corn has emerged, compared to the five-year average of 99%, with 1% silking, compared to 6% on average, and 75% of the crop rated good to excellent.
86% of soybeans are planted, compared to the normal rate of 79%, with 77% emerged, compared to 69% on average, and 9% blooming, in-line with most year, and 78% in good to excellent condition.
90% of winter wheat is coloring, compared to 89% typically in early June, and 15% has been harvested, compared to 20% on average, with 79% of the crop called good to excellent.
97% of cotton is planted, matching the usual pace, with 87% emerged, compared to 88% on average, and 3% squaring, compared to 9% on average, and 78% of the crop in good to excellent shape.
98% of rice is planted, compared to the five-year average of 96%, and 92% has emerged, compared to 91% on average, with 78% reported as good to excellent.
Peanut planting is at 92% and emergence is at 78%, both behind the respective normal rates, with 81% of the crop in the good to excellent category.
69% of the first hay cutting is complete, with 51% of alfalfa and 57% of other types of hay in good to excellent condition.
73% of livestock and 66% of pastures are rated good to excellent.
