Lely opens new operations hub

A new state of the art dairy production facility is helping provide farmers with innovative farming solutions.

Lely president Chad Huyser tells Brownfield the company’s new hub of operations is based in Pella, Iowa. “We have a role to play in agriculture in supporting our producers to produce a safe, adequate, nutritional food supply for what is going to be an exponentially growing population in the coming 30, 40, 50 years.”

Huyser says Lely will continue manufacturing autonomous dairy equipment, including its flagship Astronaut robotic milking system.

“We produce some of the support products that go along with that,” Huyser said. “Some of our cow-comfort products in the Luna brushes and different things we do there.”

Lely broke ground on the $23 million expansion in 2020. They are the only dairy and livestock company that manufactures and assembles robotic milking and feeding equipment in North America.
