House Biofuels Caucus member supportive of Governors’ year-round E15 approach

A member of the House Biofuels Caucus supports the eight Midwest governors seeking a permanent solution for year-round E15.

Minnesota Democrat Angie Craig tells Brownfield the goal is to get it done.

“However it gets done, great. Obviously I think ethanol, and biodiesel for that matter, are just critical tools in the toolbox to be able to reduce carbon emissions and to be able to meet our carbon reduction standards across the country.”

Last month, the governors of Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin exercised authority under the Clean Air Act to allow retailers in their states to sell E15 year-round in 2023 and beyond.

“However we can get it done, I would support the governors’ efforts. But I still won’t stop working to get this put into legislation.”

Craig has introduced several bills aimed at expanding the production and availability of biofuels, including the Home Front Energy Independence Act.
