Wisconsin Soybean Program gets help during director search

A board member says the Wisconsin Soybean Program has brought in some interim help after the passing of Executive Director Robert Karls.

Tony Mellenthin tells Brownfield there is a transition team in place now. “A group out of Minnesota that’s going to help facilitate us in the interim, Ag Management Solutions, they work with various non-profit agricultural groups. We have a team of individuals who are helping all through this time as we transition into finding a permanent Executive Director.”

Mellenthin says the board is going to walk, not run at this process and find the right candidates and then the right individual to lead the program into the future. “I would say our hope is as of now, as we get to the winter meeting conference schedules, our hope is by then we have a new permanent executive director in place.”Former Wisconsin Soybean Association Executive Director Robert Karls worked for more than 30 years for Wisconsin’s soybean farmers until his death on April 2nd.
