Weather not the only frustration for Minnesota farmer this spring

Weather has not been the only frustration for a southeast Minnesota farmer this spring.

Ryan Buck of Goodhue tells Brownfield they’ve been waiting on an equipment order since last June.

“They’re putting it together at the dealership, but they’ve been missing some parts and having some troubles there. So hopefully it will show up before we get done and can use it a little bit.”

He says he’s never seen supply chain issues like this before.

“It’s really been different. Normally you can order a piece of equipment in the summertime and you might have it by mid-fall or even after harvest season, but almost a year out is something to talk about, that’s for sure.”

Buck says area dealerships are telling him if he ordered a new tractor today it probably wouldn’t arrive until the fall of 2023.
