Another weather pattern shift ahead for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in western Washington and the far upper Midwest. 

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation from the Pacific Coast to the Mississippi River should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather across much of the eastern one-third of the U.S.
