Difficult weather slows progress in Minnesota

Another week of cold wet weather limited fieldwork across Minnesota.

USDA’s latest crop progress report shows spring wheat planting at only one percent complete, compared to about 65 percent a year ago.

Very limited corn and soybean planting has taken place, with both considered below one percent planted.

The planting pace for other small grains, sugarbeets, and potatoes all lag well behind last year and the five-year average.
