Nebraska reports 7th case of HPAI

The Nebraska Department of Agriculture has confirmed the state’s seventh case of Highly Parthenogenic Avian Influenza.

NDA and USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) confirmed the virus on a farm in Knox County with a flock of over 2.1 million laying hens.

State Veterinarian Dr. Roger Dudley says the farm has been quarantined and depopulation is underway.  And, the NDA says it’s establishing a 6.2-mile control zone around the farm.

Nebraska is extending it’s order that prohibits poultry events through May 15th.
