Minnesota FFA Convention caps “whirlwind” year for outgoing president

The outgoing Minnesota FFA state president calls this past year a whirlwind.

Emily Matejka of the Martin County West FFA chapter says her time as state president has gone fast.

“Just over a year ago we were standing in the Miracle of Birth Center (at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds) together, still kind of in that COVID zone. But we’ve slowly been able to transition out of that.”

Leading up to the 2022 Minnesota State FFA Convention, which began Sunday on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.

“We had our first session last night, and just that feeling of walking around the curtain and seeing that seats in Mariucci Arena filled with all those blue jackets was such an awesome feeling. And it just felt even better as a state officer to know that we’re really providing that connection experience for a lot of students.”

The 2022-2023 Minnesota FFA state officer team will be announced tomorrow during the final general session.
