Missouri FFA Convention offers insight to career opportunities

The second day of the Missouri FFA Convention took place Friday in Columbia.

Day two of the Missouri FFA Convention kicked off with a trade show where FFA students are getting the chance to explore career opportunities.

St. James FFA student Elijah Barnett, who was attending the career fair, tells Brownfield his FFA chapter has grown his interest in pursing veterinarian medicine…

“It taught me different breeds of animals; different tools, how to use them; how to properly restrain an animal,” he said.

Former FFA student and trade show vendor for the University of Missouri’s Agribusiness Management program Cooper Geisendorfer tells Brownfield the show allows students to pursue their interests or find new opportunities.

“There are tens of hundreds of employers here and colleges here,” he said. “So, I feel like it’s really important to take that opportunity and make the most of it. You know, get your name out there.”

Friday’s events included the FFA new officer ceremony and key speakers like Missouri Director of Agriculture Chris Chinn.
