Parts availability remains a concern this planting season
Southwest Indiana farmer Mark Seib says accessing parts is a challenge this planting season.
“That’s getting to be more and more of a concern for all the farmers. I used to go to one dealership and get almost everything I needed and now to do that same parts run, I have to go to two or three dealerships to get everything unless I want to sit and wait for it to be shipped.”
He tells Brownfield he bought extra parts over the winter to help prepare for shortages.
“We’ve done a little bit of inventory on our farm of the filters and some of the wear parts,” he says. “We made a list this winter and have gotten most of those in and have them on our shelf to help us get through.”
Seib grows corn and soybeans in Posey County.
