Farmer pleased with ag input availability so far

Northwest central Ohio farmer Patty Mann says she was able to secure most of her ag inputs ahead of the planting season.

“The dealer we buy chemicals and fertilizer from was proactive in his buying and we signed a contract for the fertilizer we’d be using in 2022 back in December,” she says. “As soon as we locked in prices, he started filling up his bins.”

She tells Brownfield some adjustments were made.

“We switched up a few chemistries to a different brand that might have been in short supply, but about 90 percent of the chemicals that we’re going to need are in our shop right now,” she says. “We’re very happy about how we’ve been able to get what we’re going to be needing.”

Mann raises corn and soybeans in Shelby County.
