Students gather for 94th Iowa FFA Convention
The 94th Iowa FFA Convention is underway in Ames.
Avery Hanaway of the Independence FFA Chapter says she values the family atmosphere FFA provides.
“You may not realize it at first, but FFA is really small. It seems huge, but it’s really small. We kind of all know each other, you meet someone at an event and then you see them again later. Or even like when you get to college you see random FFA members that you were friends with and are like ‘Oh, you were in FFA!”
Dylan Comes of the Atlantic FFA Chapter tells Brownfield he has learned more effective ways to lead.
“Not only leading yourself but throwing your team in there with you to lead efficiently and effectively, and kind of make it more enjoyable for the kids around you so you’re not just running something yourself.”
Comes is the southwest district treasurer and Hanaway currently serves as northeast state vice president for Iowa FFA.
