President Biden to visit Des Moines on Tuesday

President Biden has announced that will be visiting Des Moines, Iowa on Tuesday, April 12th.

In addition to discussing his economic agenda and actions he is taking to lower costs for working families, it is likely that the President will announce that his administration will be issuing an emergency waiver to allow year-round sales of E15 (also known as Unleaded 88) – a biofuel blend containing 15 percent bioethanol – to help increase America’s energy independence and alleviate high fuel prices for consumers.

As of March 2022, the nationwide price spread between gasoline without bioethanol and E15 was $0.69 per gallon. The more bioethanol America blends into our fuel, the more consumers will save at the pump. Bioethanol is an affordable, plant-based, and American-made alternative to traditional gasoline that is compatible with a majority of vehicles on the road today.

According to a statement from The White House, The President will also tout the investments in rural Iowa delivered through the infrastructure law he signed late last year.

This will be the first time Biden has been to Iowa since the 2020 election.
