Sara L. Guhn, 59, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Lutheran Living Senior Campus.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Shepherd of the Cross Lutheran Church. Reverend Aleese Kenitzer will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. All who were touched by Sara are encouraged to attend. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Sara was born on January 6, 1963, in Kansas, the daughter of Robert and Jeane Haptonstall Fitzgerald. She married Kurt Guhn on February 17, 1990, in McNab, Illinois.
Sara was a member of Shepherd of the Cross church where she sang in the choir. She was on the Board of Muscatine Realtors. Sara belonged to a quilting group called the Muscatine Melon Patchers. She was a Breast Cancer Survivor.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, shopping, getting dressed up, laughing, fishing, playing checkers with her father, and watching Young and the Restless. Sara never knew a stranger. If you spoke to her for five minutes, you became her lifelong friend. She loved camping, boating, and watching the river roll by with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Kurt; three children, Nicole Ceaglske and husband, Brenton, Aaron Guhn, and Tara Dowson-Park and husband, Alastair; eight grandchildren, Kristen, Shawn, Gareth, Malcolm, Olivia, Arya, Rylee, and Ilah; one brother, Robert Fitzgerald Jr; and a special nursing staff at Lutheran Homes.
Sara is preceded in death by her parents; and one brother Timothy Fitzgerald.
