Arkansas crops: 7% corn, 2% rice and soybeans planted
Planting continues for farmers in Arkansas. Seven percent of the corn crop has been planted, on pace with 2021, but well behind the 5-year average of 18%. One percent of the crop has emerged. Rice planting is 2% complete, the same pace as last year but behind the 5-year average of 6%. Soybeans are 2% planted, ahead of last year and even with the 5-year averages.
Two percent of the winter wheat crop has headed with 80% of the crop rated good to excellent.
Hay alfalfa is ranted 91% fair to good, other hay is ranted 10% good to excellent.
Topsoil moisture was 92% adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture was 89% adequate to surplus.
