Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures from the Pacific Coast to the Plains, while cooler-than-normal conditions will prevail from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic Coast.
Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in much of California, the Great Basin, and the Northwest.
