Crystal Flash pledges to match Michigan FFA donations

Grand Rapids-based energy distribution company Crystal Flash plans to match donations made to the Michigan FFA Foundation for the month of March.

Assistant director of development for the foundation Kyle Schaberg tells Brownfield Crystal Flash came to the organization with the fundraising idea to help dollars go further to support agricultural education.

“Crystal Flash is going to provide $10,000 of matching funds, essentially matching dollar for dollar whether it’s an individual or business donation,” he explains.

Funds will be donated to the Michigan FFA Glassbrook Endowment Fund which sponsors statewide efforts of the Michigan FFA Association including this week’s state convention, scholarships, and more.

“As far as we can tell, we have one of the biggest state endowments of all of the states in the country and what’s great about them is that it provides annual operation support,” he says.

The fund recently surpassed $8 million which Schaberg says has been a goal of the organization for several years.
