2021 tops ag export record book

The USDA is reporting a record ag export year in 2021.  Farm and food product exports totaled $177 billion, up 18 percent from the prior year.

It’s also more than 14 percent higher than the previous record set in 2014.  Exports to six of the top ten countries also all set new records. 

Exports of many U.S. products, including soybeans, corn, beef, pork, dairy, and distillers grains hit new records.  Soybeans and corn were the top exported commodities by value.

Biodiesel and blends, ethanol, and corn saw the largest gains during the last quarter of 2021.
