A brief thaw ahead to be largely centered on the Plains
Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country. Warmer-than-normal weather will be limited to the South, from the southern Rockies to the southern Atlantic Coast.
Wetter-than-normal conditions should be confined to southern Texas and an area from Montana into the upper Great Lakes region.
