USDA names urban ag committee members

The USDA has announced members of its first federal advisory committee on urban agriculture.

The advisory committee was created as part of the 2018 Farm Bill to provide input on policy and development of urban agriculture.

The 12-member committee will be tasked with holding public meetings and creating recommendations for the USDA to support urban agriculture.

Members span from urban farmers like Jerry Ann Hebron of Michigan to nonprofits representatives and others connected to the industry like Carl Wallace of Ohio and Angela Mason of Illinois.
