A welcome thaw, calmer weather ahead for the Heartland
Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for below-normal temperatures across much of the South, East, and lower Midwest, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail across the Pacific Coast States, northern Plains, and upper Midwest.
Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal conditions in southern Texas and from eastern Montana to northern Minnesota.
