Nebraska winter wheat rating down slightly
Nebraska’s winter wheat crop condition rating declined slightly during January.
The USDA says 36% of the crop is rated good to excellent, 3% less than at the end of December, with 45% of the crop called fair, up 3%, and 19% in poor to very poor shape.
Most of Nebraska remains short to very short of moisture, reflecting the drought conditions being experienced in much of the U.S. Plains.
The USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
