Michigan’s Climate Plan up for comment

The State of Michigan is taking public comment on its proposed climate plan.

The MI Healthy Climate Plan was drafted by the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy and the Council on Climate Solutions to help the state work toward economy-wide carbon neutrality by mid-Century.

The department’s plan includes enhancing carbon sequestration efforts on farms through developing legislation and funding to support farmers using best management conservation practices.  It also recommends recovering municipal solid waste, reducing food waste, and supporting composting and anaerobic digestion technologies.

Listening sessions are slated for January 26th and February 8th or written comments can be submitted to the department.
