MO Governor stresses need for ag tax credits

Missouri Governor Mike Parson stressed the need for the state legislature to support agriculture during his State of the State Address Wednesday.

Parson said reinstating Missouri Agriculture and Small Business Development Authority tax credits is needed to keep the state’s top industry strong.

“We must prioritize the extension of critical agriculture tax credits that support Missouri farmers and ranchers, ag businesses, and value-added products,” Parson said.

He is also calling for $10 million to expand ag innovation and workforce development.

“Investments like this help insure the agriculture way of life in the state of Missouri can be passed down to the next generations,” he said.

Parson went on to highlight the state’s $400 million investment towards broadband that was announced last August.
