Bison producer Donnis Baggett is impressed with the wholesale price of the meat he raises. “Average bull carcass of 624 pounds, $3.87 per pound, hanging value,” Baggett tells Brownfield Ag News. “That’s a pretty good differential of what beef is bringing.” It’s one of the reasons Baggett shifted from raising cattle to raising the large, hump-backed creatures in the heart of Texas.
