Place appointed Minnesota FSA director
Minnesota Department of Agriculture Assistant Commissioner Whitney Place has been named the new state FSA director.
The Biden administration appointment means Place will oversee operations and agriculture policy implementation for Minnesota.
Minnesota Ag Commissioner Thom Petersen thanked Place for her work in the department, calling her a valuable member that he looks forward to working with on issues and policies affecting farmers across the state.
Place has held several roles within MDA since 2012, serving as director of legislative affairs and project coordinator for the Minnesota Agricultural Water Quality Certification Program.
