Dairy exports continue to set records
The U.S. Dairy Export Council says November exports rebounded significantly and surpassed the annual volume record for the first 11 months of the year by 12 percent.
Dairy exports were up 10 percent in volume and 32 percent in value which totaled more than $667 million.
Cheese sales are on pace to surpass 2014’s record with a 40 percent increase in exports on the year, with most of the growth attributed to Japan’s increased buying of cheddar for further processing.
Nonfat dry milk exports set a record for the month in November and were up 25 percent on the year led by shipments to Southeast Asia.
Total whey exports were flat and whey protein concentrates were down 18 percent.
