A colder, more active pattern ahead for the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and precipitation across much of the country.

Colder-than-normal conditions will be confined to portions of the Great Lakes region, as well as the middle and northern Atlantic States, while drier-than-normal weather should be limited to areas west of the Rockies, including California and the Great Basin.
