Michigan Carrot Commission adopts new committee rules

Michigan carrot growers are expanding representation on the state’s board.

During a referendum in December, growers approved proposed amendments to the Michigan Carrot Industry Development Program including allowing individuals involved in allied industries to serve on the committee, making all members at-large, and removing term limits because of the small number of eligible candidates for the committee.

The changes were suggested by the carrot industry and supported by 100 percent of voting ballots.
