Linda J. Furlong, 72, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022, in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Linda Furlong was born on October 22, 1949, in Davenport, the daughter of Woodrow and Clara Brugman Fletcher.
Linda earned her degree in nursing at St. Anthony’s Hospital in 1969. She worked as a nurse at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Linda enjoyed hunting for antique treasures, playing cribbage, and listening to music. She was a people person and loved spending time with friends and family.
Those left to honor her memory include, her son, Chad Furlong of Iowa City, two grandchildren, Emma and Jack; and two brothers, William R. Fletcher of Muscatine and Roger Fletcher and his wife, Betsy, of Muscatine.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Clara; a sister Carolyn, in infancy; and a sister-in-law, Millie.
