Indiana Farm Bureau Annual State Convention is underway

The Indiana Farm Bureau Annual State Convention is underway in French Lick.

Justin McKain, an Indiana Farm Bureau member from Sullivan County, says “when we were virtual, yes we got the information, but we missed out on so much of the networking opportunities and just sharing of ideas and catching up with friends and so it’s been very exciting to be back here, back in person, and seeing all the smiling faces once again.”

He tells Brownfield he’s most looking forward to Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ag Professionals Discussion Meet.

“This Contest always encourages me to see the young farmer demographic really tackling tough issues happening in agriculture and listening to the new ideas that come out of it,” he says. “The solutions that come out of that discussion meet give me a lot of optimism as well knowing that we have this next generation of agriculture coming up already thinking about how do we solve the problems of agriculture.”

McKain is vice president of Sullivan County Farm Bureau and serves on the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee.
