BASF introduces next generation seed coating

BASF has introduced its next generation of coating polymers for seed treatments. Flo Rite Pro 2805 will replace Flo Rite 1706 in North America.

Ron Reichert, on the BASF research and development management team, tells Brownfield Ag News the new seed coating focuses on soybeans and is an advanced polymer-based technology.

“It’s a fully functional coating in that it combines adhesion properties to control dust to keep the treatments, the actual ingredients, on the seed. But also provide improvements in seed flowability so that the seed doesn’t block, doesn’t bunch up in the planter coming out of the treater.”
