EPA to fund MO water projects, create jobs
The EPA is providing Missouri more than $147 million to update water infrastructure and create jobs.
In a letter sent to Governor Mike Parson Thursday, EPA Administrator Michael Regan urged him to target resources to disadvantaged communities, work to achieve led-free water systems, and limit the use of ‘forever chemicals’ that contaminate water.
EPA Region 7 administrator, Edward Chu, says the investment supports the immediate needs of aging water and wastewater systems in underserved communities.
The funds, as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, are the first of five years in the State Revolving Fund which totals nearly $44 billion for several states.
