Republican Ag Committee leaders call on EPA to rescind chlorpyrifos ban

The Republican leaders of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees are calling on EPA to rescind its ban on chlorpyrifos.

Pennsylvania Congressman Glenn GT Thompson and Arkansas Senator John Boozman are leading a bicameral effort to overturn EPA’s final rule on the commonly used pesticide.

In a letter to Administrator Regan, the group says the agency has ignored its own findings, showing a blatant disregard for science while causing confusion, uncertainty, and stress for farmers.

EPA says the organophosphate pesticide has been linked to brain damage in children.
