Constance Helen Cooling

Constance Helen Cooling, June 8, 1950 – November 14, 2021

Connie was here for living life and in all her pursuits she was a doer and made it her own. She lived her life fully and without reservation as a loving and giving partner in marriage, an excellent, nurturing mother, provider, and the best kind of friend to everyone she shared her time and fun-loving nature with.

Her professional career in healthcare spanned forty-four years where she participated in every aspect of respiratory care. She worked as a therapist, a clinical instructor, an assistant director at Holland Michigan Community Hospital, and for twenty-eight years as director of the cardiopulmonary department, including sleep study and cardiac rehab at Trinity Unity Point in Muscatine, Iowa. She was appreciated and respected for her dedication, hard work, diligence. and expertise wherever she was employed.

She is celebrated with profound gratitude and deeply missed by her lifelong companion, admirer, and husband of forty-one years, Tony Ledtje, and their two loving children, Paul Ledtje (Yuderka Trinidad) and Anne Ledtje (husband Dan Paulsen), the entire Cooling clan, and all the Ledtje families, as well as everyone that would claim her as a friend or workmate.

Connie believed that when work was finished it was not time to rest it was time to play. She enjoyed the prospect of any adventure or new activity and excelled at instigating gatherings or parties for any occasion. If you were in her company, you were having a good time. Although our lives have been diminished by her passing, during this time of sorrow, remembrance, and love, there is some solace and encouragement to be found in her uniquely spirited approach to living life well and sharing that joy with family and friends.
