Temperatures to vary west to east across the Heartland
Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures in most areas from the Plains to the East Coast, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail in southern Texas and throughout the West.
Meanwhile, above-normal precipitation in the South, East, and lower Midwest should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in the western Corn Belt and the Far West, including California and the Great Basin.
