Biden signs infrastructure bill into law
President Biden has signed the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law.
Biden called the law historic, “This law builds back our bridges, our water systems, our powerlines, our levees better and stronger.”
He says the bill will expand high-speed broadband internet which is as essential today as water and electricity.
“This law is going to make highspeed internet affordable and available everywhere. Everywhere in America. Urban. Suburban. Rural. And great jobs laying down those broadband lines.”
Biden has put former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieau in charge of overseeing implementation of the infrastructure law.
