Drought continues to keep hold on northeast Muscatine County

The latest drought monitor map released Thursday shows not much change in conditions from a week ago.

But forecasters at the National Weather Service Quad Cities office said the map from the U.S. Drought Monitor did not take into account the recent rain that occurred on Wednesday through this Thursday morning.

Abnormally dry to moderate drought continues generally along and north of I-80, while the drought has seen some improvement along the I-80 corridor during the past 4 weeks.
