David Scott Goetzman, 62, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Reverend Chris Weber will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Senior Resources or St. Mathias Church. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
David was born on October 29, 1959, in Muscatine, the son of Paul C. and Shirley A. Goetzman.
Over the years David had many hobbies. He loved growing a vegetable garden and always liked growing begonia and coleus plants every year. David spent a lot of happy hours taking care of the apple orchard. He enjoyed spending time with his family. David took pride and joy fishing with Jacob and Jared when they were growing up.
David was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree. You would always see him helping at the fish fries. He loved his family history and was a member of the Genealogy Club. David loved going to church where he had many church friends.
He never met a stranger. David was a kind, loving man who will always be in our hearts. He will be remembered and missed by his family and many friends.
David is survived by his brothers, Thomas Goetzman and his wife, Theresa, of Hiawatha and Bill Reimers of Muscatine; one sister, Paula Bringmann and her husband, Dale, of Williamsburg; one sister-in-law, Melissa Nipper; his four nephews, Paul, Matthew, Jared, and Jacob (Brittany), and one niece, Jacey (Will) and their son, James Todd.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John Todd in 2014.
