Kansas weather slows harvest, winter wheat planting and emergence

Weather is stunting winter wheat planting and emergence in Kansas

The latest crop progress report says 95 percent of the crop is in, two percent behind last year with 80 percent the crop emerged.  That’s three percent behind last yar with 62 percent rated good-to-excellent.

Corn harvest is nearly wrapped up with 93 percent of the crop in.

Seventy-nine percent of soybeans have been harvested, 10 percent behind last year.

Sorghum harvest is fiver percent behind last year’s pace at 78 percent.

Cotton condition is rated 50 percent good-to-excellent with 17 percent harvested – 12 percent behind last year’s pace.
