A colder pattern ahead from the Great Lakes region to the Southeastern U.S.

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for above-normal temperatures in New England and from the Pacific Coast to the High Plains, while cooler-than-normal conditions will cover the western Gulf Coast region and an area stretching from the Mississippi Valley to the middle and southern Atlantic States.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in northern sections of the Rockies and Plains and from the middle Atlantic Coast into New England.
