Kansas receives $500,000 to promote mental health in agriculture

The Kansas Department of Agriculture has received a $500,000 dollar grant to destigmatize mental health in the state’s ag community.

The grant from the USDA will create a statewide campaign to raise awareness for the kansasagstress.org that provides free mental health resources for producers.

The money will also develop strategies that increase awareness and importance of mental health while lowering suicide rates in the state.

Governor Laura Kelly says her administration will use every resource to support farmers, ranchers and agriculture workers.
