FFA members discuss opportunities in the organization
Students are discussing the impact the National FFA organization has made on their lives.
Indiana native Molley Cook, a senior with the Cascade FFA Chapter, says the organization is not just for members who want to be farmers.
“A lot of people think it’s just farming or working with animals or something like that but there are so many more opportunities,” she says.
She says the organization helps students realize what they want to do in the future.
“It definitely helps you find your career pathway,” she says. “It helps you open up your eyes to what’s around you and how many really great opportunities you have.”
Kyrin Young is with the Nodaway Valley FFA Chapter in Iowa.
Advice she has for someone considering FFA is “it’s definitely something they should do because you’ll get more experience and it’s always a good time with anything you do.”
Jorja Holliday, also with the Nodaway Valley FFA Chapter, says “it gets you out of your comfort zone and you make a lot of new friends.”
Terrin Gettler described the organization as “one big family” and Kenzie Miller says members are “constantly learning new things.”
The National FFA Convention and Expo continues through Saturday.
