ASF concerns part of Tri Lateral Accord

Collaboration among state and provincial leaders in North American agriculture led to talks this week about animal and plant disease concerns, in addition to trade.

Ralph Eichler, minister of ag economic development in Manitoba, Canada, says he’s grateful for the regional approach to keeping African Swine Fever out of North America.

“We were able to share best practices and discuss our efforts and prepare for and respond to the threat of (an) African Swine Fever incursion to North America.”

The National Association of State Directors of Agriculture hosted the 30th Annual Tri National Agriculture Accord, in-person and virtual, involving their counterparts from Canada and Mexico.
