Harvest update in West Central Iowa
Advanced Agrilytics Agronomist Michael Martin says famers have made good harvest progress in west central Iowa.
“A majority of farmers are at that halfway point or a little past the halfway point of harvest in west central Iowa,” he says. “We started early, and the soybeans really dried down fairly nice and quick. The crop matured a lot quicker with the warm weather we had and drought-like conditions.”
He tells Brownfield many farmers in his area finished soybean harvest and started on corn.
“Overall corn yields have been exceptionally well,” he says.
Martin says it has been one of the best harvest seasons in recent years.
