Michigan dry bean harvest nearly complete, wheat planting surpasses halfway

Harvest in Michigan was at a standstill for the second straight week because of wet weather.

Corn condition is rated 70 percent good to excellent with 93 percent is mature and 32 percent harvested for grain.

Soybeans are 73 percent good to excellent and 39 percent harvested.  Sugarbeets are 44 percent harvested while dry beans are 94 percent finished.

Winter wheat is 53 percent planted and 41 percent emerged.

Apple harvest has less than two weeks left for growers and U-picks.
